The air was slightly breezy, a noisy fan moving it about rather unsuccessfully in the other room. A constant buzz of the crickets in the night was interrtupted by dog howls. She lay in bed, eyes closed, observing all the sounds. Noticing. Remembering.

Everybody knows the worst time to study is during exams. We take any excuse to not study. The semester end exams were in full swing in July. 

Oftentimes I lay awake,
Trying to sleep but it stays away
The white noise that induce sleep
Seem so loud, they keep me awake

Here I am, in the night
Lying on my bed wondering
Looking at a screen, with no response
Waiting for one, and pondering
